Barbara Colley Tankersley, 94, died Friday, December 25, 2009 in Savannah.
Mrs. Tankersley was born in Ware County, GA on July 27, 1915, the daughter of the late Sherman and Eleanor Wagner Colley. She attended school in Waycross, GA and Draughon's Business School in Savannah. Barbara was the Business Manager for several Savannah Doctors during her career. She was a faithful and longtime member of Morningside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Tankersley was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Ernest S. Tankersley. She is survived by her son, Ernest Stephens Tankersley, Jr. and wife Virginia of Goodlettsville, TN; daughter, Barbara Ann Tankersley Warth of Savannah; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Graveside Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday at Bonaventure Cemetery.
